For several years I have taken on summer interns and research associates through my sun-protective brand, AmberNoon. My health and environmental impact interns studied textiles, sun protection, sunscreen, sunscreen availability, sunscreen marketing, and numerous other photoprotective topics and have published several articles indexed in PubMed.
I have changed the summer research program to expand the research opportunities and the research I offer to students at varying levels. This summer I will be offering several paid research opportunities for varying educational levels.
High school students: A 4-week research fellowship will include a $500 stipend and the ability to work remotely to assist in gathering data and assist in article or manuscript preparation.
College students: A 4-week research fellowship will include a $750 stipend in addition to the ability to work remotely to assist in gathering data and assist in article or manuscript preparation.
Medical students: A 4-week research fellowship will include a $1000 stipend in addition to the ability to work remotely to assist in gathering data and learn how to complete article or manuscript preparation and submission.
The dates are flexible but must be completed by August 31, 2024. Weekly check-ins through Zoom are mandatory until project completion.
We have several exciting projects planned and look forward to your applications. The number of students accepted will vary based on the applications received and the projects available. Given the nature of the projects planned and the ability to complete remotely a broad geographic distribution of applicants is acceptable. We plan to have data and manuscripts to support publication in the medical literature and/or topic analysis to be used for social media to drive awareness.
Applications are now open and close on April 15, 2024. Individuals chosen will be contacted by April 30, 2024.
